what do broken chains symbolize?

broken chains generally just symbolize the opposite of a connected chain. freedom, liberation, expression and individualism are all symbolic meanings of a broken chain.

lately God has been teaching me what it looks like to lay the chains of my past at his feet. to walk in complete freedom and liberation with him.

about a month ago i was on my knees worshipping. i asked God to take away my fears and anything i was holding onto. i was wearing a belt that day and all of a sudden i feel it snap in half. i thought no way my belt just broke in half so i felt it. it was not broken but God was showing me that he has literally broken every chain in my life. every fear, every lie, every insecurity. he broke it.

my little sister lizzie used to sing the song break every chain. all the time she would sing “dar is power in da name of jesus to break every chain break every chain break every chain” she had no idea what the words meant that she was singing at age 3 but she sang it in such confidence.

the other night the lord spoke these words to me “you are free because of me. bought with a high price only i could pay. adopted into the kingdom of heaven where i am seated forever. hand picked i chose you, leaving the 99 to find you. weeping at my feet, i met you. crying in distress, i held you. like a mother holds her newborn tenderly and lovingly so i held your heart. you are free because of me.”

freedom is found truly in him! the chains are broken in jesus’s name! you can walk in freedom with him each and every day!

in january my squad and i will be launching to go OVERSEAS to central & south america to an unknown location (as of now) i could not be more excited for what the Lord has in store!

lots of love,

lydia
